Couldnt think of what to eat, so I threw some poached chicken, ham, tomato and grilled capsicum on lettuce with some tobasco sauce. Actually quite nice
So, with the Whole30 rapidly approaching, I thought I'd do two things: harvest a bucketload of fresh chillies and make chilli oil.
Things were going well as I picked, washed, de-stemmed, sliced and dried them.
The problems started with the recipe. I picked a 'paleo' recipe which told me to put the chillies in hot oil ... This was a mistake!
The resulting cloud of chilli smoke was, at best, unpleasant.
I'm going to still try to use the result, but I'm not holding high hopes.
I've learned two things:
1) cook outside
2) read multiple recipes
I've since found a better looking recipe and will try again tomorrow night.
